The end result, to our joy, has been rewarding- birds and animals are our frequent visitors, showing and sharing their little world with those in Camp. |

Ritish |
|
Camp was the brain-child of Ritish Suri.
A visitor of the Park from his college days in Delhi, Ritish started with operating trips into Corbett, made some life long friends in the region and finally decided that an ecologically sound place for tourists was the need of the hour. He is a keen naturalist and erudite about the jungle, it's flora, it's birds, it's innumerable animals and willing shares this knowledge with guests at Camp.
An ex-hotelier who left the city and trained to be a river guide, Minakshi Pandey, his wife, is fun loving, warm and friendly. Slowly evolving to be a budding naturalist, Minakshi is the woman in Camp and efficiently irons out all the creases.
They are both based in Camp, and operate entirely from within it. |

Harish |
|
A quiet and shy man, Harish Arya, is one of the oldest members of Camp. Originally from Kumaon, with his family now settled in Ramnagar, Harish is the 'Jack of all trades'. It is hard to put a finger on just one thing that he does in Camp- he is keen with the wildlife, good with accounts, master of walks and totally in harmony with the way of life in Camp.
A fairly new entry into Camp, Conan Dumenil from Chennai, has been with us from October 2004. Keen with birds and the forests around, Conan helps with everything from baking a pie in the kitchen to leading walks into the forest to strumming the guitar around the campfire. |

Kunwar |
|
From the first batch of trained naturalists in Corbett, Kunwar Rawat or K.D, has been guiding trips for more than a decade. His in-depth knowledge of the area is amazing, to say the least! He was instrumental in starting and getting Camp together. Now a freelance naturalist, K.D is the best on birds of the region, along with all other flora and fauna.
A shy young man (and thus no photograph!), Govind Bisht, is also from the first batch of trained naturalists in Corbett and is one of the best angling guides in the region. For those who spend time with Govindda in the forest- it is a day of mystery unraveling.
Another crazy man, Bacchi Bisht, from the second batch of trained naturalists is a poet in the Indian jungles. Good with flora and keen with birds, Bacchi, a freelance naturalist now helps at Camp. |

Chef |
|
The main man behind the scene, Chef Sahib- also Harish Arya, is the man you want to keep happy, when in Camp!
He and his team of assistants, Chaman Singh, from Bhakrakot village and Ramesh Matpal from a neighboring village, ensure sumptuous meals while in Camp with a little bit of midnight flute thrown in... Our guests have been to known to arrive with a Delhi belly and all fixed up and fine after a day in Camp. Chef is magic!

Harry or Harish Singh, our young lad at the Thatch has been at Camp for a couple of years, though we have known him and had him about since our conception, since he is from Bhakrakot, our very own village! He is now fluent in English and to our joy a budding naturalist!
He teams with Jeevan a shy boy from the higher reaches of Kumaon, to help at the Thatch. |

He is forty, but still very naughty! Balam Mehra our resident driver steals the show each time- a day with him is well spent.
Our list would not be complete without the mention of Bhalu, Titali, Chriya & Dusht- our four 'Bhutia' dogs. Their names mean Bear, Butterfly, Bird & Naughty, respectively and their names tell a lot about them!
